About Tourbillon Labs

Tourbillon Labs is a studio with two practice areas: we advise founders navigating technology decisions that shape where they’re headed, and we build tools for creators. Both draw on the same base of experience.

That experience runs from hands-on software development through to the technical leadership calls that come with acting as a founder’s fractional CTO when they don’t have one of their own. Advisory is that experience made available directly, and building is the same judgement applied to gaps we’ve seen and felt mattered enough to build for. Most recently, this has meant building tools for indie podcasters, where the market’s options didn’t reflect how the work actually gets done.

Tourbillon Labs is led by Michele Ong (LinkedIn), a creative technologist with a career built on more than 20 years across software development, business consulting, and technology ethics. Based in Perth, Western Australia — most advisory work happens remotely, as it has for most of that time, with in-person available locally for engagements where being in the room matters.
